NORMAN DALE BERGHUIS
January 4, 1947 – December 9, 2023
Norman Dale Berghuis, 76, of Dwight, Nebr., passed away December 9, 2023. There was a Celebration of Life held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2024, with U.S. Air Force military honors, at Butherus Maser and Love funeral home, Lincoln, Nebr. Pastor Kerry O’Bryant officiated.
Norman was born on January 4, 1947, in Bellingham, Washington to Benjamin and Johanna (Scholten) Berghuis. He grew up in Trosky, Minnesota, and graduated from Pipestone High School. Norman joined the Air Force and served in Viet Nam. He worked as a crane operator for many years. Norman loved to travel and visited 72 National Parks. He loved nature and wildlife and enjoyed fishing. Norman just recently moved back to Nebraska to be near family.
Norman is survived by his sons John (wife Jodi) Berghuis and Curtis Berghuis; grandchildren Breanna Berghuis, Nathaniel (wife Ashley) Berghuis, Stephanie (husband Aaron) Offutt, Nick Berghuis, Brandon (wife Shelby) Berghuis, Samantha Berghuis, Santanna Berghuis and Skylar Berghuis; great-grandchildren Briana, Aubree, Trenton, Mayleigh and Paityn; sisters Ellen Pierce and Marsha (husband Earl) Blom, and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Lynn Berghuis and Donna Bowers.
