Douglas Ronald Griffin, the eldest child of Ronald and Charlotte Griffin was born on June 14, 1953, in Murray County, Minnesota . He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Edgerton Public School in 1971. Following graduation, he completed the carpentry program at MN West Community and Technical College and joined the Army National Guard. He had a couple of training sessions overseas traveling to Germany and England.

He met and married Leatha Ten Cate in 1978. Together they had 3 children. The two were happily married for 32 years, until Leathas’ passing in 2010. It’s not too often that a person is blessed with not only one amazing spouse, but two. In 2012 he met Nola Petche. They were joined in marriage in 2014.

He had several occupations throughout the years. He was a “Jack of all trades,” including farm work, carpentry, and cement laying. His longest occupation however was working for Bos Tire Shop. In 2005 he went to work power washing hog barns and decided he wanted to be his own boss, and started Lone Wolf Power Washing where he worked until his ‘retirement’ in 2018. During his retirement he began driving truck, most recently for Corey Van Stelten Trucking.

Doug worked hard, but he played harder. He had several hobbies including riding motorcycle, traveling the United States with Nola in their RV – visiting their family and friends, and keeping up with the grandkids activities.

Doug passed away unexpectedly January 16, 2024, at the age of 70.

He is remembered by his wife Nola, mother-in-law Judy Bacon, his children, grandchildren, and great -grandchildren, Tara and Andy Wiekeraad and their girls Kimber and Ava; Candy Griffin and Mike Haupert and her children – Jackie and Brad Becker (and great-grandchildren Asher and Vela), Kaylee and Hugh Hakseth (and great-grandchildren Isla and Oliver), Karstin and Tyler Mollema (and great-granddaughter Oakliegh), Cody Brown and Zoey Logan (and great-granddaughter Arabella); Jason and Alicia Davidson and their boys Cayden, Ty, and Maveryk; Laura and Joe Newhouse and their children Alexander, Audrey, Theodore and Gregory; sister Gail and Steve Bogenrief and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and some of the best friends a guy could ask for.

Doug is preceded in death by his mother and father, first wife – Leatha, and son Scott.
