Marshall Drops SWC, 3-2, in Soccer

By Skip Hunter –

In their second game last week the SWC Eagle soccer team went up against the 2A Marshall Tigers. The Tigers have not had a good a year as in the past, and the Eagles hoped they could steal a win which would help them in the seedings for playoffs. The Eagles scored 2 early goals, but the Tigers came back with 3 and came away with a 3-2 win dropping the Eagles record to 3-3-1.

The Eagles scored in the first minute of action. Skyler Feikema sent a long free kick toward the goal; the ball found its way to Cameron Fenske who put it into the back of the net to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage. Three minutes later Fenske put a pass onto the foot of Aiden Schaap, and the junior did the rest. However, the Eagles could not generate any other goals for the 80-minute game.
