Vanderby Handling IT at SWC

AJ Vanderby is the new computer science teacher at Southwest Christian High School. He will also be teaching math and handling the school’s technology.

AJ is the oldest son of Ronica and the late Ryan Vanderby of Edgerton. AJ graduated from SWCH in 2018 and went on to Dordt University where he studied computer science.

AJ moved back to Edgerton this summer. His mom manages the Wireless World store here in town and his brother Austin works for Hulstein Excavating.

When AJ is not busy at school he enjoys playing sports, riding and working on his motorcycle, and building or working on electronics.

AJ’s responsibilities, besides teaching, are working on all the student laptops, responding to any technical issue that might come up, and work with different vendors to ensure the network and infrastructure of the school runs smoothly.

“I decided to become a teacher because I think it is important to give the future generations of students a positive outlook on how technology can and will impact our world,” he said. “I want to give them a baseline knowledge about all that it can do.”
