The 2022 US High School Clay Target League National Championship was held in Mason, Mich., on July 6-10. The shooting range, run by The Michigan Trapshooting Association, consists of 40 trap houses spanning well over half a mile end-to-end.

The first day of shooting was open to everyone for practice, either as a team or individually.

The second day was for team competition, while the third day was for individuals.

In my first 50 targets I shot a 22 and a perfect 25. In the afternoon 50 targets I got a 20 and finished with a 23, which put me in 731st out of 1716.

The top 400 individual shooters and the top 80 teams moved on to the championship round on Sunday.

It was a great experience meeting and shooting with trap shooters from many states. I am thankful for the opportunity to go to Nationals and see some of the best high school shooters.
