Despite Injury, Snyder a Part of the Team

By Mike Drooger –

If everything had gone as planned, Tyra Snyder would have patrolled the outfield of the Edgerton/SW Christian Flying Dutchmen softball team in 2022. She also would have batted in the middle of the lineup where she would have been expected to drive in runs. That wouldn’t have been an unreasonable expectation considering what Tyra had done as a junior when she enjoyed great individual success helping her team to a record of 21-4 and a third place finish at the State Tournament. Unfortunately, things don’t always go as planned. Tyra’s senior softball season never materialized due to a knee injury she suffered in the early stages of the basketball season.

Just because Tyra was unable to play didn’t mean she didn’t contribute. She was at every game cheering her teammates on while keeping the official book for Coach Andrew Fleischman. Every member of this year’s E/SW softball team appreciated her positive outlook and enthusiastic personality.
