PETER BOEVE

September 29, 1943 – May 6, 2025
Our beloved Peter Boeve went to be with our Lord and Savior in heaven at the age of 81 on May 6, 2025. Peter passed away in a farm accident doing what he loved. With his positive attitude and exuberant energy, he left us too soon; his goal was to live till he was 120.
There was a gathering to honor and celebrate Peter’s life on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, 10:30 a.m., at LifeChange Church, Sioux Falls, S.D. A service at South Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Sioux Falls, S.D., followed the service at 2:00 p.m.
Peter was hardworking and a good samaritan with a giving spirit who was generous with his time. He was always helping people in need, the church, friends and family. He loved sharing his knowledge about health, nutrition, the Bible, and politics. He enjoyed singing hymns, served God faithfully, and also provided spiritual support through prison ministry.
On September 29, 1943, Peter was born on a farm near Steen, Minn., to Dick and Jessie Boeve. He farmed with his parents until he proudly served his country in the US Army from 1964 – 1966 in Germany.
On June 21, 1967, Peter and Judith Bodewitz were united in marriage in Steen, and started their family. They moved to Flandreau, S.D., soon after to pursue farming, and Peter started a career in sales. They gave their lives to Jesus Christ together in 1970. Peter and Judith had 7 children together and in 1981 moved their family to Colman, keeping the feed business on the farm. In 1985 he moved the family and the business to Sioux Falls and continued his interest in sales. In recent years, he was a truck driver for Myrl & Roy’s Paving and was a bus driver for local schools. Friends and family will remember Peter the most by his passion for selling vitamins and health products over the years. Peter’s dream was to go back to farming and was blessed to have that opportunity before his passing away.
Peter is survived by his wife Judith; sons Terry Boeve and Gaylon (Jenny) Boeve; daughters Denise Vander Wolde, Wanetta (Randy) Munce, Londa Vande Griend, Tiffany (Mustafa) Rashid, Patsy (Jeff) Rietz; 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Hendrene Van Whye, Jeanette Bleyenberg, Betty (Harold) Babbitt, and Josephine (Glenn) Nelson.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents; brother Eibert Boeve, sister Dorothy Boeve Petersen, son-in-law Michael Vander Wolde, and great-grandchild Roman White.
