Geraldine Mae Blom, age 86, of Leota, died Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 2, 2023, at Bethel Reformed Church, Leota, with Pastor Mike Scott officiating. Interment was in Leota Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ryan Blom, Kyle Blom, Lance Wheeler, Ethan Blom, James Hustad, Evan Blom, Brady Enstad, and Bayley Enstad.

Geraldine was born March 21, 1937, in Leota Township, to Peter and Harriet (Hofkamp) Van Dyke. She attended country school south of Leota; and graduated from Edgerton Public High School. After high school, she worked at Tri State Insurance in Luverne.

Geraldine married Glenn Blom on September 20, 1955, at Bethel Reformed Church in Leota. The first year of their marriage was spent in Rapid City, S.D., while Glenn was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base. After the service, the couple farmed on two different locations west of Leota before moving to the family farm two miles east of Leota, in the fall of 1964, where they farmed until moving to Leota in the summer of 1992. During their marriage, Geraldine worked at home helping Glenn farm and raise their children. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Daryl, Kevin, Keith, and Kristi.

She was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Leota. She loved flowers, gardening and playing the organ. Her greatest joy was the relationships that were formed with her children and grandchildren. Her smile would light up the room when she was with them.

Geraldine is survived by her husband, Glenn Blom, Leota; three children, Kevin (Cindy) Blom, Woodstock; Keith Blom, Leota; and Kristi (Brian) Enstad, Cottonwood; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Christa) Blom, Kyle (Elsie) Blom, Tara (Lance) Wheeler, Ethan (Emily) Blom, Erin (James) Hustad, Whitney Blom, Evan Blom, Brady Enstad, and Bayley Enstad; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sharon (Rev. Rodney) Miersma, Hull, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Daryl Blom; and a sister, Carol Van Dyke.
