CHARLES (CHUCK) OSTHEIMER

August 4, 1938 – August 18, 2023
Chuck Ostheimer passed away on August 18, 2023, at the age of 85.
Charles LeRoy Chuck) Ostheimer was born to Harry and Alice (Flickinger) on August 4, 1938, in Gettysburg, S.D. Chuck grew up in the Estherville/Gruver, Iowa, area with his father and grandparents.
As an adult, he worked in the printing industry which brought him to Forest City, Iowa, Green Bay, Wisc., and then to Slayton, Minn., where he met the love of his life, Darla Kroontje. The couple moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., in 1989, and were united in marriage in 1991. Chuck continued his printing career in Sioux Falls until he retired at the age of 70. After retiring from printing, he went to work part time at Menards. Chuck enjoyed spending time with Darla gardening camping, and fishing.
Chuck is survived by his wife Darla, and his children: Deb (Mike) Clauge, Estherville. Iowa, David (Becky) Ostheimer, Fort Dodge, Iowa, Donna (Scott) Sanborn, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Doug (Ruthie) Ostheimer, Sacramento Calif., and Dan (Julie) Ostheimer, Fitchburg, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Charles Peter and Theresa (Crabtree) Ostheimer, Robert Lewis and Grace (Lisby) Flickinger; parents: Harry and Alice (Flickinger) Ostheimer; uncle and aunts: Ina Ringler, Lee Ostheimer, Zelma Fletcher, Earl (Pete) Ostheimer, Cecil Ostheimer, Charles Ostheimer, Elsie Hartman and DeWayne Ostheimer, and mother-in-law Harriet Kroontje.
