Mary Ann was born in Chandler, Minn., on October 3, 1944, to John and Anne (Hoek) Talsma. She attended Chandler Christian School through eighth grade and graduated from Chandler High School in 1962. Mary Ann attended one semester at Dordt College with plans to become a physical education teacher.

In 1963 Mary Ann moved to southern California. She had a number of office jobs but spent the majority of her time working in accounts receivable for Multi-Sales, where she worked until retirement. Mary Ann was a good athlete. She loved to play softball and basketball at school. When she moved to California, she enjoyed playing softball in a few different city leagues and played co-ed softball with her church friends.

Mary Ann enjoyed watching sports. She faithfully supported her nieces, nephews, and their children in their sporting activities. One of her favorite pastimes was watching sports on TV.

She enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed her visits back to Minnesota, Michigan, and Texas to visit family. Mary Ann loved her church and the family is grateful for the love and support LBCRC has shown to her over the years.

Mary Ann is survived by brothers Ron (Faith) Talsma and James (Harriet) Talsma; sisters Carol (Dave) Bickle and  Dorrene (Dan) (Robert) Pearson; sister-in-law Leona Talsma, and several beloved nieces, nephews, and their children.
