ROSE BLEYENBERG

September 18, 1941 – January 13, 2023

Rose Ella Bleyenberg, 81, of Jenison, Mich., was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 13, 2023.

A funeral service was held in Michigan on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Grace Protestant Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Mich.

In Minnesota, there will be a visitation from 1 to 3 p.m., on Friday, January 20, at First CRC of Edgerton, Minnesota, followed by a graveside service at Hillside Cemetery.

Arvin and Rose (Van Marel) met in her hometown of Steen, Minnesota, where they both attended Bible study. Residents of Edgerton for most of their lives, Arvin and Rose were united as one in marriage in 1961. Rose loved being a mother of ten children and was known as the “best cook in town,” spoiling the school children with home-cooked hot lunch on many occasions. She was also a skilled seamstress, happily helped at church, and when she found time she worked part-time at the bank, a local home for the elderly, and customer service at Schwan’s food service. Of all the things she enjoyed, her family was her pride and joy. She was a devoted member of Grace Protestant Reformed Church. We are thankful for the legacy of faith rooted into our heritage. She will be deeply missed, but we are grateful for our hope in eternity, and that we will be reunited someday in glory.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Ivan Bleyenberg, Gerardo and Lila VacaGuzman, Rick and Sharon Corson, Kevin and Arlys Vink, Verlyn and Jennifer Bleyenberg, Todd and Vonda Kaptein, Mark and Kristin Bleyenberg, David and Sara Bleyenberg, Rodney and Heather Bleyenberg; 29 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; siblings and in-laws, Arnie Van Marel, Loretta Van Otterloo, Clarella Van Marel, Vernon Bolt and Don Palmquist; and great extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Arvin Bleyenberg; her parents, Arie and Anna Van Marel, her daughter, Leann Fae Bleyenberg, granddaughters, Allie and Alliese Kaptein, and four siblings, Evelyn Van Dam, Alvin Van Marel, Darlene Bolt, and Mary Palmquist.
