BOB BRUXVOORT

October 10, 1950 – April 21, 2022

Bob Bruxvoort, 71, of Sioux Center, Iowa, died, Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center.

A family prayer service took place at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 25, 2022, at Centerpoint Church in Sioux Center (formerly First Reformed Church). Interment followed the prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Centerpoint Church with Rev. Chris Godfredsen officiating.

Robert Alan Bruxvoort was born on October 10, 1950, in Slayton, Minn., to Harvey and Henrietta (Vis) Bruxvoort. He grew up in Chandler, Minn., and later graduated from Chandler High School in 1968. After graduating, Bob attended Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. He worked for T&R Construction while he lived in Chandler, and Huisken Meat Center before joining Wesselink Insurance Agency in 1987.

On June 26, 1982, Bob was united in marriage to Lynn Woelber at the First Reformed Church in Hull, Iowa. The couple made their home in Sioux Center where Bob was very active in his church and community. He was a member of the First Reformed Church (now Centerpoint Church) in Sioux Center and served there as a deacon and elder. He also served on various boards in the community, including: Sioux Center Community Hospital, Northwestern College, Inspiration Hills, Words of Hope, and was very involved with the Car Ministry at ATLAS of Sioux Center. Bob worked for Wesselink Insurance Agency from 1987 to 2013.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of almost 40 years, Lynn Bruxvoort of Sioux Center; two sons, David (Sarah) Bruxvoort of Lakeville, Minn., and Matthew Bruxvoort of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two grandchildren, Isaac and Norah Bruxvoort; mother, Henrietta Bruxvoort of Chandler; two siblings, Lorraine (Robert) Sandbulte of Steen, Minn., and Brian (Elizabeth) Bruxvoort of Soldotna, Alaska; mother-in-law, Darlene Woelber of Hull, Iowa; two brothers-in-law, Dean (Pat) Woelber of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Jack (Sarah) Woelber of Sioux Center; nieces, nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Bruxvoort; daughter, Amy Lynne Bruxvoort; and father-in-law, Lloyd Woelber.
