KENNETH SIEVE

August 22, 1940 – April 3, 2022

Kenneth Larry Sieve, 81, of Worthington, Minn., died Sunday, April 3, at his home.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 7, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Mark Schreiber. Burial was at Garden of Memories following the funeral service.

Ken was born on August 22, 1940, to Louis and Angeline (Bruns) Sieve. Ken attended grade school in St. Kilian and graduated from Adrian High School in 1959. He then entered the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1962 and returned home and farmed with his father until he went to work at Armour Packing Plant in Worthington, later retiring in 2003 after 39 years. He also enjoyed farming with his father-in-law 20+ years during this time

In 1969, Ken married the love of his life, Mary Ann Van Essen. They lived in Worthington all their married life and had two children, Darcy and Aaron.

Ken enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and camping; and he never missed a Twins game or Vikings game. He had a good sense of humor and was a great storyteller. You could always count on him to have a joke to tell to make you laugh.

Ken is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary; two children,  Darcy Sieve; Aaron (fiancé, Jo-Anne “Jo“ Heinzman) Sieve, and one grandson Sebastian; one sister, Iva Barber; one brother, Darwin (Mary) Sieve all of Worthington, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Angeline, in-laws, Simon and Wilma Van Essen; brothers, Clarence Preston and Dwayne Preston; and sisters, Connie Wagner and Dorothy Severson.
