August 29 1948 – January 4, 2021
Darla Mae Vanden Berg was born August 29, 1948, in Pipestone, Minn., to Arthur and Arlene (Den Ouden) Vanden Berg. In 1966, Darla graduated from Edgerton Public High School and furthered her education at the Sioux Falls School of Practical Nursing.
Darla worked as an LPN at area hospitals, nursing homes, and Lakeview School. Following a back injury, she worked as a church secretary for First Covenant Church in Worthington. Darla also served one term on the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
Darla dedicated herself to activities that promote youth development. She was active in Girl Scouts, the YMCA, and Big Sister program. In later years, Darla was involved in the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. Other passions included camping, fishing, crocheting, card making, and scrapbooking. Darla especially enjoyed doing these activities with her nieces and nephews. She also delighted in time spent with the Moo girls.
Darla went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 4, 2021, at the age of 72.
