EDWIN KROSSCHELL

April 24, 1942 – December 8, 2020

Edwin Krosschell, 78, of Orange City, Iowa, died on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 12, 10:30 a.m., at the First Reformed Church in Orange City with Rev. Mark Haverdink officiating. Interment will follow the service at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.

Edwin Glenn was born on April 24, 1942, in Edgerton, Minn., the son of Peter E. and Alice (Vos) Krosschell. He was raised in Edgerton, where he attended Edgerton Christian Elementary School and graduated from Southwest Minnesota Christian High School.

He was united in marriage to Norma Jean Hendricks on June 28, 1963, at the First Reformed Church in Edgerton. They made their home in Bellflower and Seal Beach, Calif., where he was a meat cutter for 4-1/2 years and drove Greyhound tour buses for 33-1/2 years. In 2004, they moved to Orange City. Following retirement, he was a car transporter for Toyota and worked part time for Diamond Vogel Paint.

Mr. Krosschell was a former member of the Bethel Reformed Church in Bellflower, where he was an elder, and taught Cadets and Sunday School. He was also on the executive board for the ATU local 1508 (Greyhound union). He was currently a member of the First Reformed Church in Orange City.

Ed enjoyed reading, camping, traveling, playing golf and cards, fishing, and working part time.

Survivors include his wife of more than 57 years; two sons and their wives, Perry and Kimber Krosschell, of Orange City; and Scott and Stacey Krosschell, of Lakewood, Calif.; six grandchildren; two great-grandsons; his mother, Alice Krosschell, of Edgerton; and four sisters and their husbands, Marcella and Cal Schaap, of Leota, Minn.; Lavonne and Mike Barber, of Muscatine, Iowa; Audrey and Denny Bleyenburg, of Edgerton; and Sandra and Jeff Hulst, of Gladbrook, Iowa.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Adrian and Bernice Hendricks; a granddaughter, Chloe Krosschell; his nephew, Reed Warren; and many aunts and uncles.
