Samantha Koehne
Samantha “Sami” Mary Koehne was born on April 9, 1986, to Scott Koehne and Joy (Sauer) Feyereisen in Worthington, Minn. During her younger years, she lived with her dad, then later lived with her aunt and uncle in Red Wing, Minn. Sami had a creative imagination; she was always dressing up and insisting on wearing dresses. While growing up, Sami attended middle school and high school in Red Wing, graduating with the class of 2004.
Upon graduation, Sami continued her education by attending classes atMinnesota West in Worthington. Life brought Sami to Mitchell, S.D., for a few years and then to Sioux Falls, S.D. Sami worked as a CNA at a nursing home in Sioux Falls; a job that allowed her to use her ability to make everyone feel important and loved.
Sami could always be found in the kitchen where she felt most at home. She was always baking or cooking. She would bake cookies, bars, candy – you name it! Along with being a great baker and hard worker, Sami was an amazing friend. She was known to many as “Panda.” She could always be counted on to show up for a friend in need and was always there when she was needed the most.
Her smile and personality brought joy and happiness to those around her. Recently Sami had been living in Edgerton, Minn., where she passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2024, at the age of 38 years, six months and 24 days.
Sami is survived by her mother, Joy (Jim) Feyereisen of Woodstock, Minn.; children, Alex Feyereisen of Woodstock, Riley Iwen of Worthington, and Auron Kruse of Rochester, Minn.; brother, Jesse (Alisha) Sauer of Loveland, Texas; and grandfather, Francis “Red” Koehne of Worthington.
