JOE ALLEN MESMAN
January 14, 1942 – March 21, 2024 On March 21, 2024, Joe Allen Mesman, 82, went home to be with his Lord and Savior. A memorial service was held Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at CrossPoint Church, Ontario, Calif., with Pastor Don Porter officiating and Amy Mulder, accompanist. Joe was born to Gerrit and Johanna Mesman on January 14, 1942, in Leota, Minnesota. He was the oldest of six children, a loving brother to Ronald (Sherry), Larry, Donavon, Patricia (Ron Verhoeven) and Linda (Larry Saarloos). Joe worked on the family farm up until he graduated from Southwest Christian School in Edgerton, Minnesota, in 1960. After graduation, Joe moved to Lakewood, California, where he started his 60 year venture in the flooring business and, most importantly, met his future wife, Trudy Hoekstra. They were married on February 15, 1963, and raised three sons, Michael, Dean and Scott. In 1974, the family moved to Ontario, California, where they planted their roots. Joe was a good and faithful servant to the Lord God Almighty as a member of Calvary CRC/CrossPoint Church for 50 years. Joe was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Joe Allen Mesman will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor, captivating warmness, and lively friendliness to friends and strangers, as well as his enduring love for his family. Joe is survived by his wife, Trudy; son Michael and Debra Mesman and grandchildren Caleb and Ashley, Joshua, Naomi, son Dean and Kimberly Mesman and grandchildren Keirstyn and Kyle Jasper (Riley and Chase) Baileigh and Chayton Whiskey, Jenna and fiance Andrew Depree, and son Scott Mesman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerrit and Johanna, his brothers, Larry and Donavon, his sister- in-law, Sherry Mesman, and brother-in-law, Larry Saarloos.
