March 8 is Internat’l Women’s Day
March 8 is International Day for Women. This holiday is not celebrated around here, but Stacie Nagel and Yuliia Danish are celebrating this day at the Edgerton Bakery. Yuliia is from Ukraine and there the holiday is a big event. They celebrate this day like we here would celebrate Mother’s Day, however it is for all women, from two year old little girls to aged grandmothers!
Men shower their women with gifts, flowers, and food and women also remember their mothers, sisters, and friends. Flowers are one of the most popular items to give, with tulips and hyacinths being the most popular blooms.
Another favorite way to celebrate is by making cookies and pastries in the shape of the number 8, because the holiday is on March 8.
Stop by the Edgerton Bakery this week and pick up some of their special treats designed to honor the contributions of women to our world!
