Last Thursday was cloudy with a promise of rain. On the other side of the ridge in Ruthton the rain did fall, and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton’s home field was deemed unplayable. RTR agreed to come to Edgerton, and with some yeoman work, put in by Ron Zwart, the E-SWC field was ready to go by game time. The Dutchmen bats were silent throughout the game, and they went down to a 7-0 defeat.

Skyler Feikema got the nod to pitch and pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 runs on 7 hits. However, only 1 of those runs was earned as the Dutchmen defense was not so stellar. Blake Schultz pitched the last two innings, giving up a single unearned run.

The Dutchmen had two singles by Jacob Uilk and Gavin Rieck to open the second inning. However, they could not push across a single run, and those were E-SWC’s only hits for the game as the RTR hurler had them stymied at the plate.
