SWC/E Dominates at Dick Davidson Invitational
By Brian Tschetter –
The Southwest Christian / Edgerton track team traveled to Slayton on Thursday, May 5, to compete in the Dick Davidson Invitational. Considering the spring that we have had, conditions were not all that bad. Temps were cool but having a light breeze instead of a strong wind made it doable. This was a seven team meet with teams from Murray County Central, Pipestone Area, Russell–Tyler–Ruthton, Southwest Christian / Edgerton, Wabasso, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton and Hills–Beaver Creek.
The girls’ team title was won by the SWC / E squad as they gathered 166 points. This was the girls fifth team title for the year. They also have three runner-up finishes. Second in points was Pipestone with 144. MCC (115), TMB (78), RTR (39), Wabasso (34) and HBC (27) rounded out the scoring.
The SWC / E boys completed the sweep as they won the boys’ competition with 167 points. This was their seventh team title on the year with two runner-up finishes. Pipestone was second with 134. Third was TMB as they scored 93.5. RTR was fourth (73) followed by MCC who had 58.5. HBC (43) and Wabasso (30) wrapped up the scoring.
