Rebels down Dutchmen

By Skip Hunter –

Edgerton-Southwest Minnesota Christian faced a busy week last week. And from now until the end of the school year will be busy for the baseball team. AD Eric Schultz has been busy rescheduling the games that were cancelled early in the year due to the weather. Last week the team had a single game against Murray County Central on Tuesday in Slayton, a double header in Lamberton against Red Rock Central, and another single game in Tracy against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton. While the team did not register any victories, there were improvements to be seen for the young team.

On Tuesday it was off to Slayton to face the conference leading Rebels. The Dutchmen got on the scoreboard in the first inning. Skyler Feikema hit a single with 2 outs, stole second base, and rode home on a Trevin Prins double. The Dutchmen put another runner on base but were unable to score again. MCC, however, went ahead 4-1 in the bottom half of their first inning at bat.
