National Honor Society
Edgerton Public School held its National Honor Society Induction Ceremony on April 11, 2022. Parents celebrated with us as six new members were added to the EHS Chapter of the NHS. EHS joins more than 13,500 chapters of the NHS across the United States recognizing students for their character, leadership, scholarship, and service. Students must keep a 3.25 cumulative GPA and complete 20 service hours each year. We do five hours together as a chapter. Mrs. Jamie DeJong is the NHS Adviser for EHS. New Inductees are Joshua Limones Medina, Lacie Muder, Crystal Sanchez, Chloe Kracht, Mateya Gilbertson, and Jordan Bloemendaal.
School Play
On April 1 and 2, the Edgerton High School students presented their spring play, “The Alibis.” The play was a murder mystery and a comedy. about an eccentric billionaire that was murdered. A clueless detective found that the suspects are all reluctant to admit their alibis… because they were all committing other ridiculous crimes at the time!”
The 2022 Donkey Ball Celebrity Riders
On Saturday, April 9, the Edgerton FFA Chapter held the 2022 Donkey Ball event. The FFA members sold over 400 tickets for the event. DairyLand Donkey Ball out of Chippewa Falls, Wisc., were the providers of the donkeys.
There were 4 teams that competed during the evening. Teams were: Edgerton teachers, FFA members, FFA officers and the community/ alumni team. Team FFA members competed against team Community/ Alumni for the championship, with Team FFA winning.
During halftime and before the championship game, the Donkey Ball riders provided free donkey rides to students under the age of 12. Also, 55 audience members’ names were drawn for door prizes.
Prior to Donkey Ball, the Edgerton FFA held a labor auction with Justin Van Grootheest auctioneering off seven FFA members, who will help with five service hours. These service hours will also benefit our FFA members as they earn their Minnesota State FFA degree, in which they must complete 25 hours of service from three different areas. The FFA degree is the highest award an FFA member can be awarded by the state.
The proceeds of the evening events will assist with the chapter’s operation and community service projects. The Edgerton FFA appreciates all the people who volunteered to ride, help with ticket sales, bid or helped during the labor auction, and provided door prizes.
