Arrows Shoot Down Dutchmen

By Skip Hunter –

Last Monday the Edgerton-Southwest Minnesota Christian baseball team got outside to play a baseball game. The good thing was that they were able to play; the bad thing, it was the first time the team was able to play on an infield and hit outside. A few errors and a paucity of hitting doomed them in the game against Pipestone Area Schools.

The game was played on the Augustana College field. Through some connections Pipestone’s coach has, we were able to use the facility. It was a windy day and the turf was fast, but it was baseball. The Dutchmen went down to an 11-3 loss.

The Dutchmen scored first. In the second inning Connor Ockenga was hit by a pitch. He moved to second on a wild pitch and to third when Tyson Bleyenberg’s ground ball was not handled by PAS. He came home on a Jacob Uilk ground-out.
