Golf Wrap-Up

At the beginning of the golf season I asked each player to set a goal of winning at the section meet in Worthington and to play in the state tournament.

Brielle Vis earned the right to play in the State Class A 36 hole golf tournament which took place June 14-16 at Pebble Creek Golf Course, Becker Minnesota.

The tournament has been held here for many years. Pebble Creek is a challenging golf course, with plenty of water, sand with narrow tree-lined fairways. It truly is a beautiful place.

Monday we did a practice round with two girls from RTR and HLOF. That 18-hole round went really well.

The two golf days were played on beautiful sun filled mornings. Tuesday Brielle shot a 48 on the front and 53 on the back for a 101. I think there were definitely nerves. Wednesday’s round started with a 50 on the front and a respectable 48 on the back for a 98. Brielle finished the tournament 40th out of 88 players. Each round from the practice round on, Brielle’s scores improved with each day.

It was a privilege to coach all the SWMCH-EHS golfers.
