MARILYN ERICKSON

May 11, 1941 – Feb. 10, 2021

On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, Marilyn Erickson (Scholten) of Pleasant Hill, Calif., loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord at the age of 79.

Marilyn was born on May 11, 1941, in South Dakota to Steve and Mae (Kreun) Scholten. She grew up in the Edgerton area, graduating from Edgerton Public School in 1960. On August 10, 1963, she married Guy Erickson, and they moved to Pleasant Hill, Calif. They raised two sons, Troy and Brian.

Marilyn had a giving heart and made friends everywhere she went. She spent most of her life helping others and volunteering around her community. For 45 years, she dedicated a huge part of her heart to volunteering at her church, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, and touched the lives of so many people. Marilyn also loved to travel with her husband, Guy. They had a goal to travel to every continent and were able to accomplish that together. She loved to garden, and had an amazing eye for turning any area into a masterpiece. Being such an inspiration to others, she was able to pass her same passion for gardening onto others. Marilyn’s heartwarming smile and contagious laugh will be cherished by all who had the pleasure to know her.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Guy, her two sisters, Geneva and Sophie, her two children, Brian and Troy, daughter-in-law, Allyssa, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
