New Fitness Center To Open
By Jill Fennema –
On Tuesday, March 1, the End Zone Fitness center will open on Main Street Edgerton. The gym is located in the former End Zone restaurant and is owned by Scott and Marcia Landin.
In June 2020, The Exercise Place in Edgerton closed. Scott had been a member there for many years and said he has been missing having a place to go workout for months. He has been working with a former fitness club owner from Sioux Falls, who has been helping him choose good equipment and find quality, used equipment.
He has two treadmills and two ellipticals, one of which is a recumbent machine, bikes, stair climbers, and weights so far. He had more equipment coming in this week and plans to purchase more in the future, as more people join.
Scott knows that one thing he really needs right now are more free weights and weight-lifting equipment. With the pandemic situation, that type of equipment has been hard to find. When the state required fitness centers to be closed, many people bought their own equipment and that has made a shortage of equipment available.
Memberships start at $25 per month for a senior citizen or a student, $30 for a single person, $50 for couples, and $60 for a family. Discounts for semi-annual and annual memberships are also available. You can drop by the Edgerton Bakery, which is also owned by Landin, to sign up for a membership and get more information. Scott is usually at the bakery in the mornings, but the information will always be available there, even if he is not.
The fitness center will be locked and members will have a code to enter. Scott also plans to have video surveillance for security purposes.
If you have any questions or want to join, call Scott at 507-920-2897.
