Holiday Greens For Sale

Next month, the Edgerton Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their first Spirit of the Holiday Contest. This will replace the annual Chamber Holiday Lighting Contest. Rather than just give out awards for the most fabulous Christmas lighting display, they have decided to look at other ways that people decorate for winter and the holidays.

This contest has three categories:

1. Festive Daytime Cheer: Don’t wait for dark, show your Christmas spirit all day long

2. Clark W. Griswold Award: The more lights the better; remember to not park your RV in the street all month.

3. Classic Christmas Lighting: You have style and class; show it with a lighting display.

The contest kicks off Dec. 1 and will be judged the week before Christmas. Prizes for first and second place will be awarded in each category. First place will receive $50 and second will receive $25.

The Chamber is selling holiday greens again this year, too. Those need to be ordered by Friday, Nov. 6. You may have found an order form in your church mailbox, or you can call Wendy’s Flowers to place your order. Greens will be ready for pick-up on Friday, Nov. 27.

This year they are offering a 24” wreath with a bow, a designer 26” wreath with a bow, cones, and berries, a 25-foot rope garland, a bundle of 10 spruce tips, and a 34” cross with cones and berries. More information on the greenery can be found on the back page in the advertisement.
