Brummels to have auction

By Jill Fennema –

For almost 40 years Brummel’s Sewing and Shoes has been a part of the Edgerton community.  As of Nov. 1, the store is closed and a complete dispersal auction will be held.

For the past few years, Al has slowed down some and was only open three days a week and was occasionally closed for a week or so while he and his wife went on vacation.  Earlier this year, Al decided the time had come to retire and he listed his business and inventory for sale. He did not find anyone who was looking to be the owner of a shoe and sewing machine business, so he and Sharon decided to have an auction.

The auction will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. in the store at 801 Main Street. In addition to the inventory and equipment, the Brummels are also selling antiques and collectibles that they decorated their store with.
