Pool Remains Closed
The City of Edgerton had hoped to open the city pool on June 1. However, Governor Tim Walz’ executive orders have prohibited pools from being opened at this time. Pools might be allowed to be open later this summer, but the governor has not revealed the full timeline for the administration’s phased reopening of the state. Churches are now open at reduced capacity and hair salons and restaurants were opening this week as well.
Since May 13, the number of cases in Pipestone County has increased from 7 to 12, with two of those being reported since Friday. Totals for the state had gone from 11,271 to 25,208 confirmed cases in that same time period, but part of the reason for the increased numbers was increased testing.
Those who test positive are told to isolate for at least 10 days or 3 days with no fever without the use of fever reducing medications and a reduction in other symptoms, whichever is longer.
