DORIS KLINGENBERG

Doris Klingenberg, 89, of Sibley, Iowa, died Sunday, May 10, 2020, at Country View Manor in Sibley.
Private family services were held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2020, at Zoar Presbyterian Church in rural George, Iowa, with Reverend John Pea, officiating. Burial followed in the Zoar Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Doris Marion Larsen was born on February 14, 1931, in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of Rolland and Nancy (Peck) Larsen. She grew up in Sibley and attended school there. On March 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to Glenn Klingenberg at the Zoar Presbyterian manse. The couple had five children, Dorothy, Glenn Jr., Ronald, Lyle, and Donna. They farmed in Sheldon, Iowa, and Melvin, Iowa, before settling near Adrian, Minn. They moved into Sibley after retiring from farming in 2003.
Doris was a member of the Zoar Presbyterian Church in rural George, Iowa. She enjoyed helping her husband Glenn with the farming. Doris had a passion for antiques and could often be found at auctions, rummage sales, and consignment shops securing her latest find. She loved to dance, enjoying polka fests and Sunday morning waltzes around the dining room. She was a formidable pinochle opponent, loved to travel, and had a gift for meeting new people and starting conversations. She had a warm smile and an infectious laugh. She will be greatly missed.
Doris is survived by her husband of 71 years, Glenn Klingenberg Sr.; five children: Dorothy (Jay) Bolkema, Glenn Jr. (Sandy) Klingenberg, Ronald (Kris) Klingenberg, and Donna (Aaron Krizik) Klingenberg; 12 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jessie Kaciuba; two brothers, Arlen Larsen and James Larsen; nieces and nephews and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolland and Nancy; eight siblings: Allen, Phyllis, Jean, Ardith, Evelyn, Lucille and Arnold; and two great-grandsons.
