MARVIN TIMMER

September 17, 1938 – March 7, 2022

Marvin Jon Timmer, 83, of Jenison, Mich., passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, and went to be with the Lord.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 11, 2022, 2:30 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville, Mich.) with Pastor Greg VanderMeer officiating. The burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery.

Marvin spent his retirement enjoying time with family, and his winters vacationing in Destin, Florida. He loved reading, windsurfing, swimming, golfing, and playing bridge. He was also a devoted sports fan, whether watching his granddaughters’ sporting events or cheering on the Lions. Marv was a volunteer instructor with Crossroads Prison Ministries for many years, delivering Meals at Home for Sunset Manor, and volunteering for Love Your Neighbor (Love INC).

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Timmer; children and grandchildren, Angela and Benjamin Gapczynski (Ella, Ava), Jason Timmer, Nathan Timmer; siblings, Gerald and Marge Zwaanstra, Karen Timmer, Bruce and Anne Timmer, Douglas Timmer, James and Linda Kok, Faith and Wayne De Kam, Gary and Shirley Kok, Kay and Barry Bosscher; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Janice and Henry VanderWall, Judy and Ron Moelker; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Zwaanstra; brother and sister-in-law, Sherwood and Ruth Kok; and brothers-in-law, Willard Klein and Clifton Klein.
