EVELYN CHASE

February 19, 1952 – December 5, 2021

Evelyn Gertrude Bouw was born February 19, 1952, in Luverne, Minn., to parents Edward and Gertie (Brouwer) Bouw. She grew up in Edgerton, Minn., was baptized at the Leota Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church. Evelyn attended Edgerton grade school before graduating with the high school class of 1970. She went to travel from Minnesota to Washington and then California before making her way to Alaska. It was there that she met Mr. Robert Chase while he was in the service in the United States Army.

On February 9, 1974, Evelyn was united in marriage to Bob in Anchorage, Alaska. The couple made their home in Palm Bay, Fla., and Evelyn worked many years as a bank teller. The couple spent over 47 years together and raised their son, Mark.

Evelyn was a loving mother and grandmother, who adored her grandchildren. Much of her free time was spent shopping and tending to her outdoor cats.

Evelyn Gertrude Chase of Palm Bay, Fla., died on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021. She reached the age of 69 years, 9 months, and 16 days.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Robert Chase, of Palm Bay; son Mark Eugene Chase of Palm Bay, grandchildren, Noah and Nathan; siblings, Henrietta (Elmer) De Kam of Edgerton, John (Marlys) Bouw of Edgerton, Irene (Ray) Moore of Anchorage, Timothy Bouw of Slayton, Eugene Bouw of Trosky; her pet cat, Fur Baby; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters-in-law, Sheila Bouw and Julie Bouw.
