ELIZABETH VAN’T HOF

May 11, 1931 – December 7, 2021
Elizabeth Van’t Hof, 90, of Leota, Minn., died Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at the Edgebrook Care Center in Edgerton.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 10, at the Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church in Leota with Pastor Marlin Van Schepen officiating. Burial was in the Leota Community Cemetery.
Elizabeth Van’t Hof was born May 11, 1931, in Leota, to James and Jennie (Jongetjes) Verbrugge. She attended the Leota Christian School.
Liz married Tony Van’t Hof on June 6, 1952, at the Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church in Leota. Their marriage was blessed with four children. Liz worked for over 25 years as a cook at the Leota Christian School. She also helped Tony on the farm and she especially enjoyed the bottle-feeding calves. After she retired, Liz enjoyed volunteering at the Bibles for Missions Thrift Store in Worthington.
She was a lifetime member of the Ebenezer Christian Reformed Church in Leota where she also made her profession of faith. She enjoyed going to the Leota Café for coffee and visiting with her friends. She had a deep love for her grandchildren and they could always count on getting something good to eat. She also loved going to the school activities of her grandkids.
Liz is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Leon (Donna) Van’t Hof, Leota; and Gene (Brenda) Van’t Hof, Leota; daughter, Vonda (Rick) Danneman, Leota; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and one on the way; and a brother, Dr. James (Marcia) Verbrugge, Athens, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tony in 2014; a daughter, Donna in 2015; two sisters, Marie Schelhaas and Lorraine Van Niewenhuizen; two brothers-in-law, Bert Schelhaas and Don Van Niewenhuizen; two nephews; and a niece.
